Hey guys! Today I'll be showing you how to make a doll Christmas/holiday present. (It could also be used as a doll birthday present if you would like!) This D.I.Y. will also be kicking off Craftsmas, so I will be posting more holiday-related D.I.Y.'s in the next few weeks! Okay, now lets get started!
What you'll need:
- metallic/foiled origami paper
- Scotch regular and double-sided tape
- scissors
- ruler
- thin cardboard/paperboard (Note: This project is a great way to use up small pieces of scrap paperboard or thin cardboard!)
- thin ribbon (I used ribbon meant for tying on Christmas/birthday presents and decoration.)
- Optional: Instead of using metallic or foiled origami paper to wrap the presents, you can also you metallic/foiled duct tape like I used for a few of the presents.
Instructions:
First, take your paperboard, and use the ruler to draw a 3" by 4" grid. This is the basic 1" by 1" by 1" present, but you can choose to make other sizes using the same method of making a cube/box.
Next, shade in the squares you would like to cut out, like this:
After you are done shading them in, cut out your shape, and fold on the lines.
Secure sides with tape.
Next, cut a piece of origami paper that is large enough to cover the box.
Wrap it like you would a regular present.
Tie on the bow, and you're done!
If you are making the present with duct tape, cut two squares of tape, and put on opposite sides of the box. Fold over excess. Then cut a long rectangle of tape to wrap around the middle portion of the box, completing the "gift wrap" part of the project. Just tie on the bow like before, and there you have it!
Here are some pictures of these presents with Barbie (12") dolls!
I hope you all enjoy making this adorable project for your dollhouse! Also - stay tuned on Instagram @wonderlandifulcrafts to see more pictures of these presents in my dollhouse! And check back soon for more Craftsmas D.I.Y.'s! Bye!!
Sincerely,
The Wonderlandiful Crafter
